Yarramalong Macadamia Nut Farm
The Yarramalong Macadamia Nut Farm and Cafe are under new management and new energy is being invested into revitalising the orchards and on site processing, whilst the cafe is now a vibrant place for coffee lovers and nature enthusiasts to enjoy a break in the day whilst exploring the many attractions in the beautiful Yarramalong Valley.
The Macadamia Orchards contain 600 mature trees which were originally planted 40 years ago when the farm was then named the Barkala Plantation.
The cafe also sells Macadamia products such as Beauty Creams, Soaps, Muesli, Dukka, and the most delicious Honey from the onsite bee hives.
The Cafe nestled at the top of the orchards is backed by rainforest and is home to fireflies, cicadas and myriads of bird life from Jenny Wrens to Black Cockatoos. The cafe has been renamed Firefly Bistro in recognition of the fireflies which fill the rainforest behind on hot humid evenings! The cafe was the original farm house for the plantation and has been renovated to keep its charming character and you can enjoy delicious Espresso Coffee and home-baked Macadamia Scones and Brownies or a relaxed lunch in beautiful surroundings.
Please note the farm will be closed Australia Day 2011

Yengo National Park
Stretching over 70 km from Wisemans Ferry to the Hunter Valley, Yengo National Park is a wild area of steep gorges and rocky ridges, forming part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage area. Mt Yengo is of cultural significance to local Aboriginal communities and the historic Old Great North Road, an intact example of early 19th century convict road-building, follows the south-east boundary of the park.
Wollemi National Park
Highlights: This is the largest wilderness area in NSW and forms part of the recently declared Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area — a maze of canyons, cliffs and undisturbed forest.
Activities: Descend to the Colo River on Bob Turners Track (4 km, 200 m descent, some steep sections) and enjoy the beaches in one of the states longest and most scenic gorges. There are historic ruins at Newnes, across the Wolgan River from the camping area. The Glow Worm Tunnel is part of the old railway that serviced the area; access is from Clarence on the Bells Line of Road. Dunns Swamp has easy walks and plenty of opportunities for canoeing. Car-based and small-caravan camping is available at Dunns Swamp and Newnes on the western side of the park, and Wheeney Creek (short walk from carpark) on the eastern side. Backpack camping is permitted throughout the park. Bookings and permits for camping are not required.
Access: 100–250 km north-west of Sydney. Dunns Swamp is 20 km from Rylstone along Narrango Road; Newnes is 47 km north of Lithgow along Wolgan Road; and Bob Turners Track starts off Putty Road 15 km north-west of Colo. All roads are unpaved.

Henry Kendall Cottage and Museum
Visit Henry Kendall Cottage, a large historical museum in West Gosford displaying a variety of items from our past. Maintained by the Brisbane Water Historical Society.
Henry Kendall Cottage was built by Peter Fagan with convict labour. It was built from various shapes and sizes of sandstone gathered from around the property. Some still have oyster shells embedded. A slab wash-house and two seater pit 'dunny' complete the cottage setting.
Other buildings include a slab shed re-erected by Gosford Rotary Club. In this shed are three exhibitions of our early industries. There is a farm machinery shed, which houses a concrete mixer used to build part of the concrete highway between Hornsby and the Hawkesbury River. There are also other outdoor exhibits.
The Cottage has had only three owners: the Fagan family (1836), the Adcock family (1921), and Brisbane Water Historical Society (1959).
